James Chester Conant Sr.

James C. Conant, Sr., of Jenison, MI, formerly of Irons, MI passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the age of 78. James was born in Grand Rapids on October 16, 1934 and retired from General Motors after many years of dedicated service and was an avid outdoorsman. He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Mary and 2 sons, Michael and Mark Conant.

James is survived by 2 sons, James C. (Lois) Conant, Jr., and Timothy S. (Doreen) Conant, Sr., daughter Kimberly Cozza and step-son, Robert Shirley, Sr.; 7 grandchildren, Tanya (Brian) Mack, Michael (Sarah) Conant, Michelle (Russ) Conant, Timothy (Susan) Conant, Jr., Anthony Cozza, Stacey Conant and Robert Shirley, Jr. Also surviving are 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Betty (Bob) Bohn and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave. N.E., Grand Rapids with Pastor Mike King of Community Fellowship Church officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Those desiring may wish to consider a contribution to the American Lung Association in memory of Mr. Conant.
