Janene Marie Budnick

Janene Marie (McKerchie) Budnick, aged 82, passed away at home on Wednesday, April 22, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Ruth (McCoy) McKerchie, her sister Thelma, and brothers Donald and David. Janene is survived by her husband of 46 years, Thomas J. Budnick, her daughters Cheryl Noffsinger (Doug Lipscomb) and Marsha Pease (John Rumney), granddaughters Stacy (Casey) Gerken and Jamie (Chuck) Skillman, grandsons Brent (Laura) Fields, Wesley Pease, Nicholas (Courtney) Noffsinger, Bobby Pease and her 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Myrl (Ed) Payment, Bonnie Hoops, Lynette (Bill) Marsh, Brenda (Tom) Cook, Laurie (Dan) Henry, John (Gayle) McKerchie, and Richard McKerchie; her many nieces and nephews and special friend of the family, Stan Toczylowski. Having grown up in Sault Ste Marie, Janene attended Sault Ste Marie High School and was crowned as a snow queen. Janene was an avid Red Wings fan, almost never missing a game. She was a member for many years of the American Legion Auxiliary post 459. She also loved to entertain and have family parties around the holidays. Janene was also a member of the Sault Ste Marie Chippewa Indian tribe. Please join the family at Reyers North Valley Chapel on Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 5-8pm for a time of visitation where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:30pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Isidore Catholic Church (628 Diamond Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503) on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 10:30am.
