Love was the center of her life. More than anything, she wanted her friends and family to know just how much they were loved. Julie never missed a moment to share her affections. Whether it was a phone call or a hug, you always knew that she cared for you.
Nothing made her happier than spending time with her family. Julie loved to open her home and bring everyone together, including backyard cookouts and holiday parties. Julie was extremely proud of her two sons, Matthew and Michael, and adored her daughter-in-law Katelynn and her grandchildren, Bennett and Karalynn. And she always stood beside her one true love: her husband, David. It was a relationship that started as high school sweethearts and became a lifelong bond, tested by the throes of life, but one that was strong, unbroken and pure.
A lifelong resident of Grand Rapids, Julie graduated from Creston High School (Class of 1982). She loved to cheer on her Michigan Wolverines, Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings, and was always in the stands for her kids’ baseball and hockey games.
Julie is survived by her husband, David, her sons Matthew (Katelynn) and Michael, her grandchildren Bennett and Karalynn, her sister Mary Jean Hemming (Kenneth), her brothers Joseph Diekman, Steven Diekman and David Diekman, her mother-in-law Mary Jaworowski, her sisters-in-law Linda Bush, Judy Tatreau (Roger) and Karen Sexton (Noel), and her brothers-in-law Bernard Jaworowski Jr. (Adrianna), Richard Jaworowski (Cheryl), Donald Jaworowski (Patti) and Edward Jaworowski (Rachelle), her cherished nieces and nephews and those who were blessed enough to call her a friend.
Julie was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Jeanne (Brown) Doehring, her father, Guy Diekman, her father-in-law, Bernard Jaworowski, and her brothers-in-law Robert Bush and Dennis Jaworowski.
The family will hold public visitations Sunday, October 2 from 5-7 p.m. at Reyers North Valley Chapel (2815 Fuller Ave NE, Grand Rapids) and from 10-11 a.m. Monday, October 3 at Berkley Hills Church (1670 Ball Ave NE, Grand Rapids). A funeral service is scheduled to start at 11 a.m., followed by a luncheon and a private burial ceremony.
