Michael Victor Riedy

Michael Victor Riedy, aged 55, passed away unexpectedly. He was preceded in death by his father Richard Victor Riedy, his sister Rebecca Susan Riedy, an infant nephew Nathan Daniel Riedy, brother-in-law Tommy Adams, several Aunts and Uncles, and cousins Mark Garman, Gary Garman, and Ann Marie Potrykus. Michael is survived by his mother Myra Riedy, his siblings; Daniel Riedy, David Riedy, Barbara “Kate” Saunier (Curt), Mary Beth Cox (Gary), Julie Paul (Frank), Margaret Adams, 14 nieces and nephews, 11 great nieces and nephews, and his beloved friend Sheila McGee. Michael served his country immediately following high school with the United States Navy. He had a passion for cooking, and operated his own bakery for a short time. He was also employed throughout the years, as a Chef for the Amway Grand Plaza, and by Butterball Farms. Michael was a natural born linguist who was fluent in several languages. He loved animals from an early age, and was loved and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Please join the family at Reyers North Valley Chapel from 6-9 pm on Friday, April 24, 2015. An additional hour of visitation from 12-1 pm will be offered on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at St. Isidore Catholic Parish (628 Diamond Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503), followed by Mass at 1 pm.
