Michael Lane Vander Horn

He was the beloved son of Don and Ruth (Van Solkema) Vander Horn. Mike was a fun-loving father to Kenzie, Madi, Mason and Mac, treasured brother to Mari (Tim), Shari, Vonda (Jim) and Dan (Angie), dear uncle to Brandon, Amanda, Jordan, Jacob, Josh, Kyle, Britany (Mark), Rachel, Russell, Ryley and Zach. Dr. Rick (Lisa) Orange were incredible friends to Mike as well as his special friend Moira.

He was greatly loved by so many friends throughout the U.S. and particularly in Traverse City. Mike was a proud graduate of Grand Rapids Christian High School and Grand Valley State University. He was a big U of M fan and a dedicated volunteer at the homeless shelter, Jubilee House, during the last years, as well as a valued usher/greeter at Kensington Church in Traverse City. Mike loved traveling to Key West and attending Jimmy Buffett concerts. Mike was passionate for life and doing as much as he could. He loved sports including watching, playing and coaching his boys. He always treated people with equality and gave his job 100%. His passion for taking great care of his trusted friends and customers was exceptional.

Visitation Thursday, September 5th from 1-3pm & 5-8pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel. Funeral Service Friday, September 6th at 11am, visitation at 10am at East Leonard Christian Reformed Church.
