Nancy Lou Strohpaul Bockheim

Nancy L. Bockheim, age 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 17, 2014. She was born May 12, 1929, to Aurey and Harriet Strohpaul of Grand Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bernard J. Bockheim, and her sisters Lillian and Beverly. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Kathleen (Tom) Van Hoeven and Bernadette (Joe) Sutherlin, and her sons Michael (Linda) Bockheim and Tim (Theresa) Bockheim, all from Grand Rapids. She is survived by 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, brother-in-law Jerome, sisters-in-law Diane, Judy, Sr. Carletta, Sr. Lillian and Marge, and many nieces and nephews. Nancy was a very active member of St. Alphonsus Parish, helping with the luncheons and singing in the choir. She enjoyed several past times including ceramics, crocheting, dancing, and bingo. Nancy was also an avid Tigers fan, attending several games during spring training down in Florida. Visitation with the family will be held 2-4pm and 6-8pm Friday, June 20, 2014 at Reyers North Valley Chapel with a Rosary Prayer Service scheduled at 7:30 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 10am at St. Alphonsus Church (224 Carrier St NE, Grand Rapids) with Fr. Bernie Carlin officiating. Memorials may be made to the Dominican Sisters Chimbote Mission Fund.
