Patricia Ann Zurek

Patricia Ann Zurek (Volotira), 82, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025. Patricia was born in Grand Rapids, MI to Harriet and James Volotira. Patricia was married to the love of her life and best friend Ronald J. Zurek for 48 years, who preceded her in death. Patricia was also preceded in death by her brother Larry Volotira and youngest daughter Pamela (Jon) McCumber.

Patricia is survived by her children Sherry Zurek, Karen and Brad Cisler and son in law Jon McCumber.

Patricia had a love of the water and outdoors and enjoyed fishing and boating with RZ, spending hours gardening and playing in the dirt, and baking her famous chocolate chip cookies to share. Pat had a love of all dogs and had many furry companions throughout her life. She loved books and spent hours reading, sometimes until the sun came up.

Patricia was an amazing woman and human being, teaching love and strength to her family. Her favorite saying to all of us before saying goodbye, “love you more”.

Patricia was a born caregiver always putting others before herself. After years of being a caregiver, she became in need of her own caregivers. Special thanks and gratitude must be mentioned to her eldest daughter Sherry and the wonderful staff at Home Instead who became part of Pat’s family and were part of her daily care.

The family would also like to thank the staff at Trinity Health St. Mary’s and to the incredible staff at Faith Hospice who took great care of Patricia.

A celebration of Patrica’s life will be announced at a later time and take place in the spring.
