Robert spent his career working for American Seating, retiring after 46 years of service.
Robert was a man of faith, and was always a devoted member of Saint Jude Church. For 30 years Robert sang in the St. Andrews Cathedral Choir. It is here he met another member of the choir, the former Therese Stasiukinas. While in the choir they fell in love and were married in 1966.
He was a life member of Grand Rapids Elks Lodge #48 and generously served in all capacities over the years including serving as Exalted Ruler in 1979.
When Robert was at home, he was generally found in his beautiful vegetable garden. He had a green thumb and was able to nurture the smallest seeds and saplings into many fruits and vegetables. However, he will be remembered for being a devoted husband, loving father and caring Grandpa. His time spent with his family created memories that will never be forgotten.
Robert is survived by his children Michael Kramarz and Jessica (Andrew) Kopka; his grandchildren: Colin, Emma and Lilly Kopka, his sisters: Betty Kramarz, Maxine Johnson, Carol (Craig) Rothley and Chris (Jim) Lily; his brother Frank (Barb) Kramarz and many other relatives.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Therese in 2015; by parents Stanley & Lottie Kramarz, his sister Patricia Fish, and his brothers-in-law Joseph Fish and Marv Johnson.
On Thursday January 28, 2021, Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church (1120 4 Mile Rd. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525) where the family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service. A Rosary will be said at 11:30 a.m. as well. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial donation to the Grand Rapids Elks Lodge #48, 917 Bridge St. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504 (Memo: In Memory of Robert Kramarz) for their scholarship program; a project near and dear to Robert’s heart.
