

Robert Franklin Pollock, age 79, of Grand Rapids, Michigan went home to his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 13, 2017 following a brief illness. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Gertrude Pollock, his loving wife and mother of their 3 children, Gail H. (Latta) Pollock, sister Renee Hoekstra, brother-in-law Charles Zalewski, and his great-niece Tiffany Lax. Bob leaves his children Robin (Steve) Rogers, Deb (Don) King, Dave (Jan) Pollock, his grandchildren Daniel (Sarah), Randi, Ryan, Austin, Macy, Morgan, Brittney (Jordon), Aaron, Kendall, and great grandson Brodee. He is also survived by his sister Rebecca Zalewski, many nieces, nephews and extended family, his girlfriend Shirley, as well as many friends both in Michigan and Florida. Bob was married to Gail “Harriet” for 50 years; he loved spending time with his family and always put them first. He worked as a journeyman for Van Houten Electric sign for over 30 years. Bob was the worlds #1 handyman! He enjoyed camping, golf, NASCAR and playing cards. His passion for life and love of the Lord was shown daily in his smile and warm hugs! Bob and Gail were called and served at St. Luke Lutheran church from the beginning and also designed the cross that hangs there today. Bob had joy and peace in life as well as death because he lived with the promise of eternal life in Jesus Christ. Friends and family will gather for a celebration of his life at Reyers North Valley Chapel on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 5-8pm. Services will be held at 11am on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church (3215 4 Mile Rd NE Grand Rapids, MI 49525).
