Roger James Wilson, 80, passed away unexpectedly on October 5, 2017 at his home in Caledonia, MI. Roger was born in Green Bay, WI in the winter of 1936, the second child and only son of John P. and Oda Z. Wilson. Roger moved his family to Grand Rapids, MI in 1968 and worked for National Cash Register until he opened his own business, Cash Register Electronics, in 1976. Roger was well known in the Grand Rapids area for his bright orange business vehicles which he frequently used to embarrass his daughters. He continued his career with his final company, Retail Systems Inc., until his passing. Roger was a Marine at heart and a diehard Green Bay Packer fan but his greatest passion was always his family. He was proceeded in death by his second wife, Christine and his sister Jacquelyn. He is survived by his three daughters, Erin Smith, Kelly Williams and Shannon (Shari) Gamiao-Wilson; nine grandchildren, Erik, Jeremy, Justin (Cassandra), Joshua (Chastity), Tristen, Avery, Tara, Gabrielle, and Parks; and two sisters, Marcia (Mike) and Bonnie. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, October 20th, 2017 at the American Legion Boat & Canoe Club, 401 N. Park St. NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49525.
