Sally Anne Dobb, age 70, passed away at St. Ann’s Home after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was born in Grand Rapids on September 3rd, 1955, one of four children of Rodney and Beth (Sinclair) LaPointe. Sally spent her life in Grand Rapids, graduating from Creston High School.
Caring for others was second nature to Sally. She dedicated her nursing career to Ferguson Hospital and other local medical facilities, where she was known for her compassionate care.
A devoted wife and mother, Sally welcomed friends as family and created a home filled with warmth and belonging. As a nature and animal lover she enjoyed gardening, horseback riding, and bird watching. Sally found great happiness in spending time with family at her cottage in Pentwater on the shores of Lake Michigan.
Sally will be remembered for her adventurous spirit and kind heart. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Sally is survived by her husband Michael, her children: Kelly (Ryan VanderMeer) Emery, Molly (Michael Bishop) Dobb and Stephen (Linda Sakocius) Dobb; her grandchildren: Hazel, Amelia, Ian, Madisyn, Connor and Gillian; and her siblings: Molly (Douglas) Lachniet, James (Valerie) LaPointe and Andrew (Tammy) LaPointe.
The family is planning a memorial to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Michigan Audubon or the West Michigan Humane Society.
