Shirley Ann Sund

Shirley Ann Sund, age 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 29, 2015. She was born on August 2, 1934 in Holland to Adriana Bolle and Herbert Hop. Shirley graduated from Holland High School in 1952 and Hope College in 1956 with a degree in Elementary Education. After an initial blind date with Odell, who worked for Wood TV 8, the two dated for a long time and were married on June 23, 1962 at 1st Reformed Church in Holland. Shirley enjoyed her work throughout the years at Harrison Park, Fairview, and Alpine Elementary Schools. She was a long time active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, and enjoyed reading, crafts and sewing. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Odell, and will be lovingly remembered by her sons; Jeff (Beth) Sund, Mike (Paula) Sund, grandchildren; Nichole (Mike) Quigley, Benjamin Sund, Danielle Sund, Rachel Sund, Jordan Sund, as well as 2 great-grandchildren. Please join the family for visitation on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 10:00am until the time of her Funeral Service at 11:00am officiated by Pastor Craig Bickel at Immanuel Lutheran (2 Michigan St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503).
