She is survived by her son Alan (Janet) Vis, 6 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; her sister-in-law Alice Vis and many nieces and nephews. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband Harry in 1988, her daughter Judith (John) DeLeeuw, her son Larry Vis, and her siblings.
After raising her family, Thelma spent time working for Kent County in the kitchen at the local jail. She also worked for several years at Michigan Bulb Company.
Visitation for Thelma will be held on Wednesday December 7, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Reyers North Valley Chapel where a funeral service will be held on Thursday December 8, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Fairplains Cemetery.
Memorial donations in memory of Thelma may be made to the Michigan Veterans Homes in Grand Rapids.
