Yvonne M. Penning

Yvonne Marie Penning (Olszewski/Shea), widow of John Penning, passed away at the age of 90. She was a retiree of General Motors. Yvonne is remembered as a kind and thoughtful mother, grandmother and friend. She was passionate about her work, family, music and dancing. She had a love for the simple pleasures in life. She was predeceased by her sister, Geraldine Inman, son-in-law Patrick Flynn, grandson Adam Olszewski, and great-granddaughter Adriananna Olszewski. She is survived by her children; Judy (Tom) Vander Meer, Linda (Howard) Becker, Terri (Ray) Popma, John (Pat Baldwin) Olszewski, Kathy (Bill) Tiemeyer, and Kelly (Eric) Utter, 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, Per Yvonne’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of her life will be held at Reyers North Valley Chapel 2815 Fuller Ave NE on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 AM Friday September 16, 2011 at Holy Spirit Church 2222 Lake Michigan Drive NW, Grand Rapids, MI with rev. John Vallier as celebrant. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider donations to American Cancer Society or Spectrum Health Hospice.
