It saddens me to hear about your passing.  
I was very young and new to the country and you and your wife gave a me a start and a chance. I will be thankful for everything you taught me. The smell of your Homard à la Vanille and the taste of your Grand Marnier Soufflé are forever in my memory. 
I know things were not very easy for you and you lost a lot through your life. At least Hannelore was always an angel at your side to calm everything. 
May you Rest In Peace always.

I worked for Gilbert and Hanalore, mostly in the 1980's at their Plaza restaurant. My time there was all to brief and the pinnacle of my 20 year restaurant  career. He was not an easy person to work for but the experience was rewarding. I wish his family peace at this difficult time. May he rest in Peace.
