John Harold Makin, 91, of Grandview, passed away April 20, 2012 at Life Care Center of Grandview. Visitation, Tue., 9:30, April 24. 2012, McGilley & George Funeral Home, Grandview, Mo. Funeral Service at 10:30. Burial with Military Honors in Lee's Summit Cemetery, Lee's Summit, Mo. Memorials may be made to Grandview Historical Society. John was born February 14, 1921 in Grandview, Mo. to Harold W. Makin and Sarah Francis Johnson Makin. He was a lifelong area resident and a member of the Grandview United Methodist Church. He was a WW II & Korean War Marine Veteran. Owner and Operator of Makin Motors in Grandview. After retiring in 1976, he sold real estate. He enjoyed golf and boating on the Lake of The Ozarks. Preceded in death by his parents and his wife Catherine. He is survived by three children Janice West of Grandview; John H.
