

Randy Joe Fulmer, 72, of Kansas City, MO, peacefully passed away on May 1, 2023, after battling multiple myeloma. Randy was born in Kearney, Nebraska on January 6, 1951, to LaMoine and Juanita Fulmer. He grew up in Smith Center, Kansas where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Beth Johnson. He graduated from Kearney State College with a Biology and Education degree and completed his Master of Arts in Education from Oral Roberts University in 1995. After his completion of ROTC, Randy was commissioned as an Army officer in 1973. He served four years of active duty as well as 28 years in the Army Reserve and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Randy was a dedicated teacher, Christian school administrator, and football and basketball coach for over 30 years in Hugoton, Kansas; Denver, Colorado; and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Randy’s life was driven by his deep relationship and love for Jesus. In everything he did, he gave his all while relying on the Lord’s voice to guide him. This was evident in the way he loved his family, taught, coached, and led others. Randy loved coaching the game of basketball and even more so, shaping and investing in his players' lives. Randy had a knack for adding a joke and finding humor throughout his life. Randy was a sports fanatic who could eloquently debate any sports topic especially when it came to his beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers. He was an avid reader who loved to learn and study history. Randy was a devoted husband, loving father, and doting grandfather. He was a true warrior who walked with strength and grace through every circumstance of his life and whose presence will be greatly missed.
Randy is survived by wife, Beth Fulmer; daughter and son-in-law, Kristin and Mansour Khalilkhani; daughter, Michelle Fulmer; and granddaughter, Ariela Khalilkhani; brothers, Kim and Patricia Fulmer, and Barry and Janet Fulmer. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, LaMoine and Juanita Fulmer.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20th at Grace Point Baptist Church, 10415 Chestnut Dr, Kansas City, MO 64137. Family and friends are invited to a time of fellowship immediately after the service. A Private Family Inurnment will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
