Genie was born in Aunt Ethel’s home, Mother’s sister in Miriam, KS and then moved with her family to her grandparent’s dairy farm in Cass County, MO where she lived until she married Clifford Wall May 20, 1950. Living most of her life in Cass County. She was a part of the Belton 4-H Club where she enjoyed sewing, canning where she got a blue ribbon for her applesauce, and livestock. She graduated from Belton High School. She attended Grandview Church of Christ for many years.
Genie worked at several animal hospitals in Harrisonville and Grandview, where her labor was greatly appreciated as a vet assistant and dog groomer. She loved birds of all kinds especially parakeets, loved birds and cockatiels. She also loved dogs which were her companions most of her life. Genie was very artistic with crocheting, embroidery, ceramics, plaster of paris, and oil painting. She was the co-founder with Grace Blaco of the Tri-County Art League. She enjoyed horseback riding after the chores were done. Taught the calves to allow the kids to ride them. Rode the cows to the dairy barn. Broke and trained Betty, her horse. Gardening gave her great pleasure watching her seeds come to life.
Family which preceded her in death were her parents, Fred and Grace Likins Groh; brother, Kenneth Groh; sister, Fredona Rosebud Groh; husband; Clifford E. Wall, and her nephew, Clifford Daniel Still.
Those left to mourn her passing are nephew, Kenneth James Groh (Candy); niece, Helen Groh; sister-in-law, Dorothy Wall Yarber (Don); nephew, Glenn Still; niece, Alicia Still Youmans (Stan) along with great nephews and nieces.
Visitation to be 9:00-10:00 am Friday, June 25 at McGilley & George Funeral Home, 611 Chestnut, Belton MO. Graveside service 10:30 am in the Belton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Wayside Waifs or HELP Humane. Arrangements: McGilley & George Funeral Home (816-322-2995)
