

Alice was born June 14, 1936, in Holland, MI, to Martin and Elizabeth Hacklander, the youngest of five children. She attended Holland Public Schools, marrying Deacon Norman Dale Riksen in 1957. The couple settled in Grandville, MI in 1965 to raise their four children. Alice was a longtime member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, a member of the choir, and provided many years of volunteer service in organizing and creating the liturgical decorations for the parish. Later in life, Alice returned to college to complete her Associate of Arts degree, where she went on to participate in the local arts scene as a watercolor and floral artist.
Alice was preceded in death by her daughter, Jane, and is survived by her husband, Deacon Norman Riksen; children Catherine (Tim) McKean, Paul (Chantima) Riksen, Molly (John) Pimm; seven grandchildren Cassi (Blake) Hawkins, Amanda (Travis) Straw, Hannah McKean, Jaclyn (Robert) Smith, Troy Riksen, Bryce Raaymakers, Tyler Raaymakers; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Cook Memorial Chapel – East Building, 4235 Prairie St. SW Grandville, MI 49418, with a scripture service at 3:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2026 at St. Pius X Catholic Parish, 3937 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville, MI 49418, with visitation one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Parish.
