

OLAH-Andrew Olah, age 85 of Wyoming, stepped through the gates of Heaven and into the arms of Jesus, Tuesday, February 23, 2010. Andy was born on March 4, 1924 to Mary and Andrew Olah in Muskegon. He graduated from Muskegon Heights High School where he played basketball and baseball for Coach "Okie" E. Johnson. For years Coach "Okie" would say that Andy was the best second baseman he ever had. Andy proudly served his country in Europe during WWII. Five months after he returned home he married Dorothy LeMieux. He played semi-pro baseball in Muskegon for nine years before he moved to Grand Rapids with Dorothy and his daughters. In later years he became an avid golfer. Andy was always extremely involved in Church activities serving our Lord. He leaves a legacy of Christian love and grace.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy; his daughters, Jan Paris Mike and Kathy Ramsey, Angie and Don Lofquist, Andrea and Dan Huistra Jill and Troy Austin, Karen Huistra Nancy and Mike Poliski Lisa and Rob Elliott, Scott Poliski, Jeni Poliski; and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Friday at Zion Reformed Church, 4457 36th St. The family will receive relatives and friends, Thursday 6 to 8 pm at the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville, west building 4235 Prairie St. SW.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Van Andel Institute for Brain Cancer Research or Zion Reformed Church. The family would like to thank everyone who came alongside of them in Andy's final days to provide consistent support, care, laughter, and prayers. We know Heaven will love him!
