She is survived by her sons Allen (Janice) VanTatenhove, James VanTatenhove and David (Debra) VanTatenhove; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; good friends Maxine, Dorothy, Margaret and Edna; and “Shadow” her beloved ‘fat cat’.
Mrs. Van taught elementary school in Sand Creek and Cummings Schools for many years. She enjoyed square dancing, ballroom dancing, traveling, gardening, fishing, and crafts and was active in the senior centers in both Wyoming and Allendale.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie S.W., Grandville with Pastor Ron Hirdes officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to service on Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wyoming Senior Center.
