Bernis L. Grant

Bernis Grant, age 83, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus Monday, November 1, 2021. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry “Butch” Deters; sister, Blanche White; stepson, Tim Grant; stepdaughter, Cheryl Grant. She is survived by her husband, Lewis L. Grant; children Dennis (Jan) Deters and Denise (Rick) Smith; grandchildren Jonathan Grant, Tyler (Ansley) Grant, Lauryn (Caleb) VanderVeen, Olivia Deters, Coltan (Amber) Smith, Baylor (Becca) Smith, Harrison (Kerstin) Deters, Canyon Smith; great-grandchildren Jobe MacDonald, Laiyla VanderVeen, Freija VanderVeen, Carlyle Smith, William Deters, Astrid VanderVeen; sister, Bonnie (Jim) Hunt; sisters-in-law Tootie Neerken and Bonnie Deters; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Bernis was a longtime member of Grace Bible Church where she actively served. Her faith and family were the most important things in her life. She was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by all of her family.

Visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2021 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, Michigan. Funeral services will be held 12 noon Monday, November 8, 2021, with visitation from 11-11:45 a.m. prior to service at Grace Bible Church, 3715 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Bernis, contributions may be made to Grace Bible Church Mission Fund.
