

ELENBAAS - Carroll L. Elenbaas, a resident of Byron Center, peacefully passed away the 24th of November surrounded by her family and is now rejoicing with her Lord. Born in 1942 in Detroit, Carroll received her Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from Aquinas College and worked for many years as a planner for Gaines Township. Carroll loved working with children and volunteered as a teaching aide in Grandville Schools. She and her husband had a strong network of friends, from Michigan all the way to Texas.
Carroll leaves behind many cherished memories and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband, Clark Elenbaas, and children Lisa & John Stafford, JJ and Stephanie Bechtel, Tony and Fran Elenbaas, Matt Elenbaas, Amanda and Tim Olsen, and Steve and Jenn Elenbaas, as well as 15 grandchildren who brought her great joy. Also surviving are Carroll's siblings, G. Thomas and Lois Poirier, Nancy and Peter Knott, Mary & Wes Kremers, Tom Elenbaas, Dan and SueAnn Elenbaas, Ted and Lois Elenbaas, and Carol and Steve Haan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of one's choice.
Memorial visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 26 at Cook Funeral Home (West Building) 4235 Prairie Street, S.W., Grandville, MI. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 28 at Hudsonville Reformed Church, 3950 Highland Drive, Hudsonville.
