Charles R. Lannin, age 89, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, October 20, 2020. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jake B. Lannin.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Arlene Lannin; daughter, Susan Brahany and her husband, William Brahany; son, Charles G. Lannin; grandchildren Courtland, Jake, and Olivia; siblings; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Charles served in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict upon the U.S.S. Randolph. He later represented the Navy as part of both their basketball and baseball teams. Charles graduated from Purdue University Calumet Campus. Upon retirement from Consumers Energy, Charles worked as starter for many years at a local golf course where he was affectionately called “Good Luck Chuck.” Charles was honorable, honest, nice, and generous, always quick with a joke. He loved life and living it, and he will be missed.
In honor of Charles and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcaresgrandville.com.
