Clayton B. Brummel

BRUMMEL - Clayton B. Brummel went home to Glory on Monday, December 11, 2000 at his residence in Bradenton, Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Albertha; his grandson Randy Pols; and a brother Marvin Red Brummel.

Loving family members include his present wife Virginia; his children, Charlene and Peter Pols, Karen and Ivan Lameyer, Bruce and Bernice Brummel, and Terry and Jan Brummel; his stepchildren, Charlene and Harold Evers, Sheri and Ed Bolt, and Jim Scheeringa. Clayton adored his 14 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Donald Lila Brummel and his sisters, Bea Al Wassink, Ruth Post, Irene Eugene DeBoer, Velma Al VanderKlay, Maxine Donald Hoorn; sister-in-law Louise Richard Zeeff.

His enthusiasm for life and original sense of humor endeared Clayton to his family, business associates and numerous friends. The founder of Brummel's Home Furnishings, Clayton established the business after many years as a popular auctioneer.

Suggested memorial contributions include Pine Grove Christian Reformed Church's Summer Worship Program in Howard City, where Clayton was an active member and instrumental in starting the Summer Tent Worship Program; or Mission-India Services.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 16 at 10:00 a.m. from Ridgewood Christian Reformed Church,1517 Baldwin St. in Jenison, with Rev. John Wiggers of Pine Grove Christian Reformed Church officiating. Interment Georgetown Cemetery. The family will meet relatives and friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Cook Memorial Chapel east building 4235 Prairie St., SW, Grandville.
