LILLY - Daryl Gene Lilly, age 61, a lifetime resident of Byron Center, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2001. He was preceded in death by his father Homer R. Lilly; his mother Vivian Brown Lilly; step-father Edward Brown; father and mother-in-law, Albert and Pauline Dominiak and sister-in-law Nancy Falarski. Daryl is survived by his loving wife of 39 beautiful years, Sallie; his children, Steve Joyce Blood, Cathy Dan Rietsma, Shelly Kalei Andrade; six grandchildren, Angela Blood, Scott Blood, Aaron Meyering, Patrick Meyering, Kelly Meyering and Ka’iulani Andrade; step mother-in-law Florence Dominiak; his sister Ruth Fred Slager; sister-in-law Katie Jimmie Britton; brother-in-law Jack Falarski; step brothers and sisters, Chuck Kathy Brown, Joe Sandy Brown, Dick Geri Brown, Ann Tom Scovel, Mary Wilkenson, Pat Jack Zwaska, Olive Brown; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many special friends. Daryl dedicated many years of his life to Steelcase where his expertise in chair building was phenomenal. The world has many heroes who have won the world of fame. Heroes who have given their all to win in life’s great game. But of all the famous heroes that our changing world has had, there was no one quite like Daryl, husband, brother, son and dad. Daryl loved us as much as we loved him. Go with God, until we meet again. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, at 11 a.m. from the Byron Center United Methodist Church 2490 Prescott, with Rev. William Doubblestein officiating. The family will meet with relatives and friends Monday 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home 2067 84th St. SW in Byron Center. Interment Winchester Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
