Dorothy Koning

Dorothy Marion Koning, age 100, went peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus Christ her Savior July 28, 2024. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Forrest Koning, and her precious son, Ronald Koning. Dorothy was born May 24,1924 to Andrew and Hazel (Fisher) Scott. She is preceded in death by her nine siblings Alice, Jennie, Libby, Hazel, John, Wesley, Andrew, Jeanette, and Kay.

Dorothy will be cherished in the hearts of her children Nancy Morgan, Kathy (John) Gascho, Rick (Julie) Koning, and Jimmy Koning; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren. For all who knew her, whether by Dorothy, Dot, Mom, Grandma, GG, Great-Grandma, Aunt Dot – the legacy she leaves is one of love, joy, humility, and grace. She lived her life in service to God and others. In the cover of her Bible, Dorothy paraphrased John Wesley who said, “Do all the good you can, to all the people you can.” And she most certainly did.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2024 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, Michigan. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), with visitation from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to service.
