
STOLT - Dorothy Margaret Stolt passed away Thursday, January 14, 2010. She was born on September 4, 1925 in Howell, MI where she grew up. After marrying in 1946, she moved to the Grand Rapids area where she was a loving wife and devoted mother for the past 63 years. She will be remembered for her many acts of kindness to those who were in need and her volunteerism to community organizations such as Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, PTA and church. She was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist in Grand Rapids where she served as Sunday school soloist for many years. At the age of 59, she fulfilled a long time dream of becoming a Christian Science Nurse and lovingly practiced her career before retiring in 1992. She was an avid gardener with a special love of roses.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Lesley Lynn, her brothers, Lawrence Perkins, Claude Perkins, Floyd Perkins and Robert Perkins, her sisters Mary Louise Perkins, Wanda Perkins, Ethel Peavy, Vivian Campbell and Martha Mack. She is survived and loved by her husband, Edward, her children, Rena Anway, John Stolt, Eric Cindy Stolt, Kathey Greg Lamphere, 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, sister, Brenda Lee Taylor, and many nieces and nephews. Her family wishes to give special thanks to the staff at Spectrum Health Continuing Care Center for the loving care given to Dorothy during her stay. As were her wishes, no funeral service will be held. A memorial service will be held for the immediate family at a date to be determined. Flowers are gratefully declined.
