Earle W. Vanderwood

VANDERWOOD - Earle W. Vanderwood, age 78 of Grandville, passed on peacefully to his Heavenly home on Saturday, January 12, 2002. He received and lived a full life as a gift from God. He was a loving and faithful husband, an awesome father, proud grandparent, and friend to those who knew him. Earle was a World War II Veteran and served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper.

'Earle the Pearl', as he was affectionately known, will be missed by all, including his wife of 54 years Maxine; his sons, Kent Beverly, Kris, Kary Kimberly; son-in-law- Keith VandenBosch; grandchildren, Matt Maria, Bryan, Tim, Brad, Cory, Kristena and fiancAC. Rob, Will, and Kyler; great-grandchild Alex. He is also survived by his sister Theresa John Meengs; brother John Vanderwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerrit and Anna; sister Lillian; daughter Jillane VandenBosch and granddaughter Heidi VandenBosch.

Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Cook Memorial Chapel 4235 Prairie St. SW - east building.

The family will meet with relatives and friends 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Cook Funeral Home, Grandville - west building.

Memorial contributions may be made to Tri-Unity Christian School or Christian Rest Home.
