

Frank was born on June 22, 1938, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Angeline and Edward Chatman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Joyce Post; daughter, Debra Scheidel; and grandson, Mitchell Scheidel.
He is survived by his wife, Sally; children Edward (Kristy) Chatman, Frank (Arvada) Chatman, Jr., Jerald (Jill) Chatman, Matt (husband of Debra) Scheidel, Sheryl Lankheet, and Pamela Fox; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings Jennie (Art) Van Setters, Jo Ann (Tom) Burke, Angeline (John) Cook, Edward (Betty) Chatman, Marlene (Newell) Heath, Mabel (Dan) Van Os, Linda (Bill) Kasul, and Patricia (Greg) Santellan; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Frank proudly served his country as a wireman in the United States Marine Corps. He worked as a brakeman for CSX railroad for 21 years and, later, as an armored guard for Wolverine Dispatch. Frank’s quick wit, amazing sense of humor, and abundant love will be cherished forever. He is deeply missed by all who love and know him, and his place in our hearts is immeasurable.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2019, at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St., SW, Grandville, MI 49418, with visitation from 1 - 1:45 pm, prior to the service.
Pursuant to Frank’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
