I enjoyed sitting with Fred in the evening in the big room at Holt Lodge at Cedar Lakes while he patiently hooked a huge piece for his church. My most vivid memory of Fred is of course the year he was in the skit at Cedar Lakes. It seemed like there were a dozen women and Fred in a comedy based on the old show The Dating Game. He was a wonderful straight man and put up with it all, offering a dry wit comment or two. Today we could have gotten out our cellphones to record the performance but then again we might have been laughing too hard to do it. My sincere sympathy.

My fondest memory of Fred was when he was the only male attendee at Southern Teachers Workshop. When I was president I asked Fred to be the Inspirational leader and every morning he would give his inspirational prayer .It was very brave of him and I admired him for doing this. Fred was a trainee with me at Southern. He was a a very gentle and patient man to put up with 12 women in his class that year. He is sadly missed. My thoughts go out to you Nancy and the family. I hope he's at peace.

Nancy and family, Fred was in my class as we started through teachers workshop to attain our certification. He was a humble, sweet spirited, fun member among a large group of anxious women! When we received the call that Fred had left us, the words of a song floated thru my head, "the battle is over, the victory's been won"! I have no recollection of Fred being well, but I do remember always seeing a smile on his face. What an example of true love your family has past on to so many people. (1Corinthians 13 - Love endures long & is patient & kind, love bears up under anything). Our Lord will continue to fill your lives with is presence and surround you with His arms of love.
