Uncle Gerrit has always had a special place in my life, as well as my family. He always had a project he was working on, whether it be a lawn mower, a snow blower, a trailer or a bike. He always took time for his family, even if we just dropped by.
 You will be missed!! We love you!!

We got to know Gerrit when he worked on our vintage Airstream. Not only was he a good mechanic but he was also a great guy who would go out of his way to help. We will treasure our memories of Gerrit and think of him fondly when we go camping and enjoy the things that he worked on in our trailer. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. May God sustain you in his love and grace!

RIP Gerrit Oh how we will miss you. For 32 years you have been our neighbor, best friend,confidant, and father to my kids when they didn't have one.You were family. Always out and about either on foot a go cart or a riding lawnmower. We so love you and Denwood St will never be the same without you. To know you was to love you and we will never forget you. It was a pleasure to know your dad, husband. He always made a party fun. Even though I did not see him often, he had a chosen name for me; "squeaky". Everytime I hear someone using that word, I think of Gerrit. Just makes me giggle. It is very difficult to lose a father, I still miss my Dad mine all the time. But as time goes on you learn how to live without them here with you on earth. Heaven will never be the same now that Gerrit has arrived! God bless you all and give you all peace.

He was a great Man and Friend .He was the most caring big harted man i ever knew. No one could never ask for a better Friend than Gerrit he was always there for us no matter what .We grew very close over the years. Gerrit was a part of our Family to us. Mary & Family, We are so sorry for your lost, our prayers are with you and your family. Gerrit was a good man, and awesome neighbor, and a loving friend! I can't tell you how much we are going to miss the early morning wake up calls- with the lawn mowers scream into our bedroom window at the crack of dawn...or hearing the truck start promly every morning at the same time to go and have coffee....or just finding random items (little gifts) in our back yard. Those are the things among many others that we are going to miss the most. Gerrit was like the father figure, the best friend, or just someone you needed to vent to. Thank You Gerrit for touching our lifes and leaving such great memories with each one of us.
