Harold "Andy" George Anderson

ANDERSON Harold "Andy" George Anderson, age 83, of Sparta, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family. Andy will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Anderson (Clarke); his children, Kimmie Anderson, Robert (Chris) Anderson, Steve (Kim) Anderson, Lisa (Greg) Hood; his grandchildren, Heather (Ryan) Titmus, Brandon (Rachel) Hood, Brandon (Tamara) Rhinehart, Ian Anderson, Eric Anderson; his five great-grandchildren; his sister, Barbara Savella; and his sister-in-law, Margaret Nyquist.

Andy served in the US Army in the Korean War as a Staff Sargent and Platoon Leader in the 2nd Infantry Division. He worked as Plant Manager for many years at Amway Corporation and also at Steelcase.

Andy loved his family; especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a proud member of the NRA and the American Legion. Painting, reading, handgun target shooting, gardening and golf cart rides were some of the activities he really enjoyed. Andy had a special place in his heart for dogs. He was a strong man who enjoyed life with the ones he loved.

Memorial services will be held 6 p.m. Monday, March 30, at Cook Memorial Chapel in Grandville, 4235 Prairie St. SW (east building), with visitation prior to the service beginning at 5 PM. Chaplain Daniel Pflug will be officiating. In honor of Andy, contributions may be made to Van Andel Institute - Cancer Research or Special Olympics Michigan.
