My first memories of Harold come from my childhood in Minnesota when he first accompanied my sister, Lois, to our home in the late 1940's. He was so energetic and fun..I particularly remember how much loved boats at Green Lake. I was impressed that he knew so much about so much..
 it was clear that he loved my sister...and she returned the feeling. Her wish was his command. He worked so hard to please her and their children. Clearly, he was a devoted father and husband. .
 It was a privilege to have the opportunity to know and respect him for such a long time.

We have so many fond memories of Harold. He had become so much a part of our life that he was more like family. We enjoyed many adventures, meals and fun times together. We will miss him so much. We are sure he was celebrating and worshiping in heaven on Sunday morning with Jesus and his wife and family & friends who have gone on before. .We extend our sympathy to all of Harold's family and to all the many friends who loved him like we do. He will be greatly missed here on earth until we meet again in heaven.

 We enjoyed what little we had with Harold. Loved to talk fishing and family history. He told me he was ready and I know he is in the right place. 
 Unfortunately, we will not be able to attend the memorial service. We shall be there in spirt!

I am the eldest daughter of Ray DeVreugd. My grandfather was Harold's brother. My first memories of Uncle Harold were when I lived in Illinois. We would go visit Aunt Lois & Uncle Harold and his children. I remember wearing plastic bags over my shoes so I could play outside with Paul in the snow. I also remember their wonderful basement! So much food down there. 
 Uncle Harold was a great comfort to my grandmother after grandpa died. He also called us all on a regular basis to tell us how much he loved us and was so tech savvy for an older man. He always impressed me that he had such a love of life and a love for his wife.
 I know whenever I hear his voice, I heard my grandpa's voice....and I know he loved us all very much. I am excited because I know he is dancing in heaven with his love!

Harold lived next door to my mother-in-law, Wilma Silvis. We help Wilma and visit with her just about every Friday, and many times Harold would come over for a visit while we were there. He always had a smile and kind words. He helped my daughter Heidi go fishing a few times, showed us many pictures, and had some good conversations. I always thought Harold had such a great attitude and that he loved life. We were able to visit him at the nursing home one time and he still had his positive attitude. I and my girls will miss him very much! We love you Harold:)

We loved Harold here at RCW Tucson. He was active in the birding club, also enjoyed hiking and photography. He was one of the nicest men we ever met.

Harold was such a joyful person. He was liked by all the volunteers he worked with at Love INC of Allendale and became a friend to me. He loved to share his adventure stories and always had a huge smile! :-) what a blessing Harold was to soooo many people. Blessings to the family. May God comfort you with sweet and joyful memories of your Dad and Granddad through this time.

I will always remember Harold as a vivacious individual. He was always so happy to be involved in the science events we've held for kids. He was kind and funny; a very interesting man to talk to - who loved to travel, loved photography, and loved his family. Glad I was blessed to know him.
