Harvey Bouma

Harvey Dennis Bouma, age 79, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, November 22, 2022. Harvey was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Bouma; parents Aukie and Clara Bouma; parents in-law Albert and Ann Brunsting; brother, Calvin Bouma; brothers-in-law Erv Zeerip and Don Ferner; sister-in-law, Molly Brunsting; nephew, David Bouma; and niece, Terri Brinks. He will be remembered by his children Kim (Dave) Van Noord, Pam (Kirk) Ulven, Christie (Scott) Hoekstra, and Karri (Matt) Murphy; grandchildren Chelsea, Courtney, and Collin Van Noord, Kayli Moore, Justin and Brendon Hoekstra, Emma (Kyle) Lacy, Amber, Shelby, and Zade Ulven, Taylor, Brayden, and Ava Murphy; great-grandchild, Alexander Moore; brothers John (Joan) Bouma, Harold (Ann) Bouma; sisters Nance (Ald) Quist, Esther Zeerip, Shirley Brinks, Pat Shananaquet; sister-in-law, Annette Bouma; brothers-in-law Butch Brunsting, Ralph (Carol) Brunsting, Don (Marilyn) Brunsting, Fred Brunsting; sisters-in-law Bertie Ferner, Minnie (Curt) Bacon; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Harvey enjoyed spending time with his family, building/working with wood, hobby farming, and deer hunting. When the current church building at Bauer CRC was being built, Harvey eagerly accepted the task of building the cabinets and cupboards in the classrooms and the kitchen. His property on 66th street provided ample acreage for several farm animals including cows, goats, chickens, horses, rabbits, and pigs. He enjoyed hunting whitetail deer with his family and friends on his brother's property in Evart, MI and in Hesperia, MI. He also enjoyed serving as a youth leader for several years at North Blendon CRC. The trips to convention with so many young adults were among his favorite memories.

Visitation with friends and relatives will take place from 5-8 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2022 at Cook Funeral Home (West building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. A Celebration of Harvey’s Life will commence at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to service Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Bauer Christian Reformed Church, 4958 Bauer Road, Hudsonville, MI 49426.
