He was preceded in death by his son Roy Carey, and his parents.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Carolyn; his son Jim Theresa Carey with grandson Jimmy; his daughter Jessica Carey; his father Oscar Rutherford; his brother Mike Carey; and several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 16 from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2670 56th St. SW, in Wyoming, with Bishop Pace officiating.

Interment will be at the Floral View Memorial Gardens.

The family will meet with relatives and friends on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home west building 4235 Prairie St. SW in Grandville. Visitation will also be held at the church one hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wyoming Ward Missionary Fund.
