Janice Carol Haddad passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025. She was born February 25, 1945 and was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Betsy Shock; father, Harry F. Kempf; stepfather, Harrold A. Miller; brother, David R. Kempf; and stepbrother, Richard Miller.
She is survived by her sister, Marilyn “Dolly” Cook; stepbrothers Gerald Miller, Rev. Stephen Miller; children Jana (Scott) Benjamin, Tim (Jill) Henkel, Tom Henkel, Jodi Kles; grandchildren Haleigh, Lucas (Waverly), Caitlyn, Jake, Tairyn (Cody), Austin, Ryan, Alex, Eric, Daniel, Averie; great-grandchildren Kinsleigh and Kenny.
Jan was a retired high school teacher of 18 years. She was a devoted fan of her beloved University of Michigan and Detroit Lions football teams and enjoyed watching many other college and professional sports as well as the Olympics. More than anything else, she enjoyed spending time with her family. If you knew her, you never forgot her. She touched the lives of many people and she will be dearly missed.
The family will receive friends at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418 on Sunday, September 14, 2025. Visitation will be held from 12-1 p.m. with a ceremony at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or American Heart Association.
