

Karel Jean Tilma, age 92, went to be with her Lord Monday, June 17, 2024. Karel was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William “Ole” Tilma; parents Harold L. and Mary Jenison; four brothers; and two sisters. She will be remembered by her children Mary (John) Stone, Carol (Gary) Coe, Linda (Steve) Snyder, and David (Chris) Tilma; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; brother, Dave (Virginia) Jenison; sisters- and brothers-in-law; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Karel, a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, was known for her solid faith and steadfast love for her family and others. She was a natural caregiver to her family members and many others, welcoming them into her home and providing for their every need. Karel was a dedicated and gifted teacher. She served at her church, as both a teacher in the two and three year old children’s class for over 40 years and an Awana leader. She was bright, energetic, and showed love to all those in her care. Karel was known for her generosity. She went above and beyond to support those she loved. Karel was a devoted prayer warrior. She faithfully prayed for her family and friends, keeping a prayer journal and making phone calls to follow up on how things were going. Mom, Grandma, Yaya, Sister, Auntie, and Friend. She will be dearly missed, but we rest in knowing that she is celebrating in Heaven with her Lord and Savior. If you knew Karel, you knew you were her favorite. She, however, is our all-time “Fave.”
A memorial celebration of Karel’s life will commence 2 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Grandville Baptist Church, 4325 40th Street, Grandville, MI 49418. In honor of Karel and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith Hospice or Grandville Baptist Church. Interment will be at Jenison Cemetery.
