Kenneth Joseph Petkus Sr., age 84, died peacefully in his home on Thursday, February 4, 2021. He was a loving, devoted husband to his wife, Suzanne, for 61 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Denise Marie Petkus. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Petkus; children Ken (Beth) Petkus, Michael (Kendra) Petkus, Richard (Melinda) Petkus, Anthony (Emily) Petkus; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Ken was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he served on the USS Hornet CV-12. He was a charter member of Holy Redeemer Parish. He loved being active in his children's and grandchildren’s lives, organizing tailgates, coaching, and attending countless games.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Holy Redeemer Parish, 2700 Baldwin St., Jenison, MI 49428. In honor of Ken, and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kids Food Basket, 1300 Plymouth NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505.
