Laurie Lacy, age 62, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024. She is survived by her sons Cody (Jessi) Lacy and Kyle (Emma) Lacy; mother, Nancy Bussis; sister, Karen Spriggs; grandson, Maverick Lacy; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Anthony Bussis; brother, Gary Bussis; sister, Barbara Williams; and brother-in-law, Roger Spriggs.
Laurie loved life with her boys. They were involved in football, track, and Boy Scouts, riding mini bikes, snowmobiling, four wheeling, three wheeling, and watching WWE on Friday nights. Laurie loved fast cars, auto repair, four wheeling, dune riding in her Bronco, and riding her horse. She loved to dance - tap, ballet, jazz, toe, any kind of dance and she would do it. She loved the outdoors - gardening (she had a green thumb), camping, bonfires, sun bathing and music (anything from country to heavy metal). She was an avid animal lover - especially her horse, Gypsy, her "girls," the chickens and her cat, Sugar Baby. She had many bird feeders so she could watch the large variety of birds in Allegan County. She loved her friends and family and stayed close to them. She would help others any way she could. She was always on the go, but also loved the country life and solitude. She was an employee of LG Energy Solutions of Holland, Michigan and loved her job.
Her family would like to thank The Cancer and Hematology Center of Holland, Michigan for their support and kindness during her treatment, with a special thanks to Shannon, Bobbi, Jenn, Courtney, Kayla, Cali, Chris, and Kelly.
We would also like to thank U of M Health-West, Metro Health Emergency Team, Drs. Shurts and Simpson, Doug, Sam, Lizzy, and Nicole from ICU for all of their support and understanding during our difficult time.
A celebration of life gathering will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315, with visitation from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresbyron.com in their guest book online.
