Marie Stein (Homrich)

Marie is survived by her children Theresa (Keith) Kiel, Robert (Charlotte) Stein, Dolores Stein, Melvin (Alice) Stein, Lewis (Colleen) Stein; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brother Kenneth (Helen) Homrich; sisters Ruth Pawloski, Laverne (Clarence) Schumacher, Shirley Warner; sisters-in-law Joan Homrich, Maxine Schwartz, Theresa Stein and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis; granddaughters Denise and Kimberly Kiel; brothers Marvin and Norman Homrich and sister Helen Schwartz. Marie devoted her life to her family and friends. She was the last surviving member of the group of volunteers known as the "North Dorr Cooks." She will be deeply missed. The family wishes to thank Marie's special caregivers Shirley Warner, Donna LaRoche and Hospice of Holland.

Visitation with the family will be held from 2-4PM and 6-8PM, Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Cook Funeral Home - 2067 84th St., Byron Center, MI 49315 with a Vigil service beginning at 3:30PM. Funeral Mass will be at 11AM on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at St. Mary's Visitation Catholic Church - 2459 146th Ave, New Salem, MI 49323. Rev. Stephen Rodrigo, Msgr. William Duncan and Msgr. Michael Hazard will be presiding. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest a contribution to St. Mary's Education Foundation or Hospice of Holland.
