

Martha was born in Charleston, WV, but lived in Grand Rapids most of her life. Martha was known for her hugs, her infectious smile and her love for people, especially her grandchildren. Martha had the gift of music and loved to sing in church and with her family. She loved the Lord and remained faithful, kind, encouraging, and helpful to everyone. She worked a variety of jobs but her favorite was working as a nurse's aide because she loved helping people. Martha was an excellent cook who loved to prepare and share a variety of dishes, including her fantastic pies.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Lynn Rush; seven sisters, and four brothers.
Martha will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 64 years, Charles Rush; her sons, Rick (Ann) Rush, and Mark Rush. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, whom she was so proud of, Lindsey, David, Derek, Adam, and Zyan Rush; her loving sisters, Clara (Tom) Sutter, Sue (Grover) Breen, Leah Salters, and Judy (Nathan) Rose; and many special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11 AM at Greater Life Pentecostal Church, 1667 Wilson SW, Grand Rapids. Relatives and friends may meet her family Friday from 6-9 PM at the Cook Funeral Home (east building) 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville, and Saturday from 10 AM until the time of her service at church.
