Marvin Gene Austhof

AUSTHOF, Marvin G. Austhof, age 60 of Grand Rapids, passed on to our dear Lord, Wednesday, March 24, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his children Tara and Aaron; his parents Louis and Grace Austhof. He is survived by his loving wife of 5 years, Dee; his children Tanya and Patrick Cook Nathan and Aaron, Steven and Shannon Austhof Breana and Bryce, Brian and Jenny Austhof Brendan and Haley, Kara and Rafael Rodriguez Autumn, Alesia and Abigail, Ali Goss and Clint Goss; his brothers Robert Austhof and Louis and Ethel Austhof and sister Linda and Bob Kraak; and many nieces and nephews.

The "Marvelous" was a bona fide man to the nth degree, to everyone that he has met in his path. His gracious vitality of life was enormous. Giving, trusting, lovable, caring are words not justified to the great man he was! Marv will be missed by friends to the North and to those in the South. Marv was the golfer's partner and partner in work; he will be deeply missed by his friend and business partner of 54 years, Fred Hoonhorst. A memorial service will be held 12 p.m. Saturday at the Cook Funeral Home, Byron Center, 2067 84th St. The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday 10 a.m. till time of service.
