

Norman Dale Vander Wood, age 72, peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022. Norm was preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Hilda Vander Wood; brother, Frank Vander Wood; sister-in-law, Katrina Vander Wood; and best friend, Bob Foster. He will be remembered by his siblings Marva Martinie (Pres), Earl (Arlene) Vander Wood, Leonard (Jean) Vander Wood, Roger Vander Wood, Larry (Sue) Vander Wood, Linda (Dave) Ponstein; sister-in-law, Char Sobie; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Norm was a longtime resident of Colorado since 1974. He spent the last 18 years in Johnstown, Colorado.
Norm enjoyed going to Sturgis on his Harley-Davidson with his best friend, Bob Foster. He loved hunting elk, mule deer, and antelope. Norm took his first whitetail in Colorado, not Michigan.
Norm enjoyed Hallmark movies and GRIT TV. His favorite thing to watch on TV was his beloved Colorado Avalanche. The final season that Norm watched the Ave’s, they won the Stanley Cup. Norm was very happy with that so he could take shots at the Red Wings fans around him. Norm will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Visitation with friends and relatives will take place from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. A celebration of Norm’s life will commence immediately following at 11:00 a.m.
