Randy Scott Westhouse

Randall Scott Westhouse, age 56, passed away, Friday, February 7, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Hazel Westhouse. Randy will be lovingly remembered by his children, Amanda (Kirk) Stema, Lance Westhouse, Paul Westhouse, Rebecca Westhouse; his grandchild, Hayden Stema; his siblings, Terry (Pauline) Thomas, Ron (Marybeth) Westhouse, Linda (Bill) Dirkmaat, Nancy Root, Mark (Dara) Westhouse, Doug (Elaine) Westhouse; and his longtime girlfriend, Trudy Pomorski.

Randy worked as the manager of the meat department at Costco in Grandville, and previously owned Ralphs and Bartels grocery markets in Grand Rapids. Randy truly had a big spirit and a wonderful personality. He had a charming smile which was contagious and always lifted your spirits. He was a food lover and had a weakness for homemade enchiladas, mac and cheese, a perfect steak as well as many barbeque and polish dishes. He cherished sharing time with his friends and family, and proudly supported the University of Michigan and our Detroit Tigers. Randy played 20 years of softball in the leagues in Wyoming and Georgetown. He also enjoyed his life to the fullest with travel, Church at Mars Hill and fishing his many secret fishing holes in the area.

The family welcomes friends and relatives to join them for a celebration of Randy's life on Sunday, February 16, at the American Legion Post 179 on Wilson by Johnson Park at 1PM. In honor of Randy, contributions/ideas may be shared with the family to build a memorial for him. Please join the celebration by wearing your favorite University of Michigan or Detroit Tigers apparel. Lunch will be served.
