Rebecca Lynne Tanis, age 39 of Pasedena CA, went to be with her Lord and Savior where she joined her grandparents Ed and Zola Noordyke and Wayne Tanis, on Monday, December 6, 2021. She will be lovingly remembered by her parents David and Coral Tanis; sister, Lindsay Renee Tanis; grandmother, Shirley Tanis; many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Rebecca graduated from Jenison High School where she was active in marching band and track. She received her degree with honors from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences. Rebecca spent many years in the banking industry where she made lifelong friends. However, her true passion for horses led to many accomplishments in equestrian events and training of horses in the racing industry. She was truly a “horse whisperer.” She never gave up her passion for life and was always a positive force wherever she lived, worked, or played. We gave her wings and she used them with no fear or regrets.
Visitation with relatives and friends will take place from 2-4 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2022 at Fair Haven Church, 2900 Baldwin St., Hudsonville, MI 49426. A Memorial Celebration of Rebecca's Life will follow at 4 p.m. In honor of Rebecca, contributions in Rebecca's name may be made to Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund (pdjf.org) or locally to Love Inc.
