I'm so sorry for your loss pat. I used work closely wth dick as an umpire. Being a part of the local umpires association I remember he was always the first person willing to volunteer for anything needed. He was willing to be as helpful and productive as anyone I knew. His jokes and anecdotes were always an uplift to my day. His smile and Jovial presence was nothing less than infectious. He will be missed but I knew him as a Christian man and I'm sure he has found what his path has led him too. My condolences and may god bless your family in this time of grieving.

I meet you & Pat at the Salvation Army At Burton & Buchanan. Dick would always be playing the Piano at whichever corps he was at. Dick would always make silly noises beforei.e. bird noises, train whistles and the like. He always had a kind heart when it came to me,he would talk to me at length, he always played softball with the Army, and 1 play would change Dick alot when he went for a flyball and knocked heads with Jim Nauta, I never saw a women run as hard or fast as Pat did. We went golfing with Dick several times especially when he was done on his luck i.e unemployed my brother Charles & I would pay for his golf and we told him not to pay us back, that's what great friends we were. Pat, Dorothy and I were sad to hear of Dick's passing. I know from many discussions with Dick after a Friday night game, that MANY will miss him. None as much as you! Our heart goes out to you!!! Be sure that Dorothy and I will be praying for you in the days ahead. It is hard for me to imagine what my life would look like without Dorothy! I know you and Dick were married longer than us. My ownly consolation would be that I would know where Dorothy was. Again, because of so many conversations with him, I'm certain I know where Dick is right now. I know you do too. May God's peace be upon you as you celebrate memories of a life lived well together. For more than 25 years, as I have approached Homeplate, I've looked over behind the backstop to see you and Dick send me a smile, give me a word of encouragement. Dick was a wonderful person he will be greatly missed. I would sit at the fields with Dick and talk to him while watching a game. I loved listening to his storys about him becoming an Umpire and everything he did. He did a Great job and no one will every be able to amount up to him. Now he can umpire for the Lord above us, keep them in line as you did here Dick. You will always be in our Hearts. Our Condolences go out to you Pat. Sheri & Wally

Pat, I didn't know Dick as well as I would have liked, but the time I spent with him was always fun. He will be remembered for his terrific sense of humor, his kindness and his compassion in the weeks following Heather's passing. It's easy to see why she cared for him so much. I just met Dick at an umpires clinic last spring & quickly learned of his love for Wyoming softball and all involved. I got to know him better when I lost my key & he brought me one at the next game. He and Pat were always great encouragers and shared some great stories during the season. After a game that I worked & he attended, I could go to him & ask where I could improve as a rookie ump. He was honest & encouraging. He will be missed by all who knew him and I appreciated his love of the Lord. I'll bet he's having a ball in the Heavenly softball league.
