He was preceded in death by his parents Philip and Evelyn Hammond; his wife, Charlotte Hammond; daughter-in-law, Terri Lynn Hammond; son, Mike Hammond; and great-grandson, Noah Hammond.
He is survived by his children Marilyn Spencer, PJ Hammond, Brian Hammond and Dawn (Dale) Lester; grandchildren Brian Hammond, Robert Hammond, Lisa Hammond, Brandon Lester, and Sam Lester; nine great-grandchildren; and several cousins.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from General Motors after over 30 years of service. He enjoyed photography, hunting and riding his motorcycle.
At Bob’s request, cremation has taken place, with private family services at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, or the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
