Timothy John Payne, age 56, beloved husband of Margret, suddenly passed away to glory in England on August 14, 2020. Also surviving are his family: daughter, Elizabeth Payne; sons Jon (Chelsea) Wright of WA and Owen Wright of NV; parents David and Barbara Payne of Jension, MI; sisters Laurel (David) Watkins of Allendale, MI and Lisa (Glenn) Emmert of Zeeland, MI; brother, Michael (Dawn) Payne of Holland, MI; three grandchildren Jon, Jax, Charley Jo; mother-in-law, Thora Reimarsdottir; brothers-in-law, Jon Skuli Jonsson (Hrafnhildur Brekkan), Stefan Bonner; sisters-in-law Linda Jonsdottir (Hordur Rafnsson), Karen Magnusdottir (Saevin Bjarnason) Dagny Magnusdottir (Sigurdur Jonsson); along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
Tim graduated from Jenison High School and was a varsity wrestler for over four years. He was a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force for 20 years as a computer specialist. He served in many countries. After retirement, Tim worked as a specialist for the military in Germany and England. He will be dearly missed.
Visitation with the family will be held from 4 - 8 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2020 at New Life Baptist Fellowship Church, 6252 Burlingame Ave. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at New Life Baptist Fellowship Church with visitation from 12 - 12:45 p.m. prior to the service. In memory of Tim and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
