Timothy John Vereecken, who was known affectionately around the world as Timmy, and to his family as Timmy Lou, left his broken, earthly body to receive his new, perfect body in Heaven on August 31, 2021. We are rejoicing that Timmy can now see, walk, and talk with his best friend Jesus and with the angels we know were always surrounding him.
Timmy will be greatly missed by his father and mother, John and Karla Vereecken (Voorhees); sisters Julianna (Juan Carlos) Garcia, Susana (Natanael) Espinoza; brother, Jonathan Vereecken; grandparents John and Julie (Hagg) Vereecken, Harold and Joanne (Land) Voorhees; four nephews; two nieces; many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
His family is forever grateful to Yolanda Meza Victoria who spent her life helping care for Timmy for the past 30 years.
Timmy was happiest while listening to music, but his favorite song was “This Little Light of Mine.” Everyone knew to expect him to shout a loud “NO!” to hiding his light under a bushel. Timmy was a light to the world, and the story of his life changed many lives.
We will celebrate his life on Thursday, September 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Resurrection Life Church Res Center, 5100 Ivanrest Ave. SW, Grandville (Door E from Ivanrest, Door H from 52nd). The service will also be streamed live at https://youtu.be/9wXKiUU0mug.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Global Outreach Ministries (www.OurGlobalOutreach.org) marked “Timmy Respiro” which provides respite care for families of disabled children in Latin America.
The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcaresgrandville.com.
